Fading Away! *limited time discount offer

Do you have media like old photos, slides, films, videotapes that is collecting dust and fading away? These types of media can deteriorate over time. Before you decide to do anything with your old media, have it converted for safekeeping. Make two copies, one for your personal use and the other copy put in a firebox or safe deposit box.

An excellent media conversion company we have used is  Nostalgic Media. They are located at 2250 North Druid Hills Road Atlanta, GA. (www.nostalgicmedia.com – 404.844.3840) Both their quality of reproduction and customer service is excellent. When I asked Keith Burnett, Owner and Founder of Nostalgic Media, why should people bring their old media to his company, his reply was three-fold:

  • “Our quality is top-notch because of the equipment and how we handle your media. We use broadcast quality for media transfers to insure flicker-free images. Our work is guaranteed.
  • Media conversion has become a popular service offering but we are one of the few who keep all conversions in-house. Before you drop off your media, ask if they ship off-site or keep in-house.
  • And finally, all of our conversions are handled individually. We don’t simply drop your media into a machine and produce an output. If you bring in slides, we color correct them. You need pictures to be scanned in order, we insure they are kept in order. In other words, everything is done by hand with the assistance of our equipment.”

*Starting today, July 26 – August 9, Nostalgic Media is offering a 20% discount when you mention MovieMe! Take advantage of this two-week offer. You won’t be disappointed.

Some frequently asked Nostalgic Media questions are:

Will my photos, videotape & slides be returned?
Yes. Everything will be returned with your completed order. Movie film will be returned cleaned and spliced onto 400 ft. reels.

Can I make prints from my scanned images?
Yes. We save your images as JPEG files, the most universal format. Just take your disc to your local photo lab for prints. You can also email your image files anywhere. Online services such as Snapfish, Kodak Gallery and Shutterfly can produce photos, albums and calendars from your images.

Can my movie films, photo and slides be included on the same disc?
No. Since each scanning and transfer service is highly specialized, we cannot mix different media onto one disc. If you send us three types of media, you’ll receive three discs.

Can I have my images scanned in order?
Yes. Sort your images in stacks of 15 to 20. Wrap each stack with a rubber band. Use a post-it note and number each stack. We’ll keep them in order.

How long is turnaround time?
Normal in-lab turnaround is 3 to 6 working days, a bit longer during the holidays. Allow extra time for shipping.

Will the DVD be compatible with my player?
Our DVD’s will play on nearly any stand-alone DVD player. If your DVD player was manufactured after 2001 and reads DVD-R media (the most common type), it’s likely to play the DVD.

What is the shelf life of a DVD?
We use special, archival-grade DVD’s with a projected life of over 100 years.

How do I place an order?
Download our PDF order form. Print it. Fill it out completely and sign it. Pack your materials. We suggest using zip-lock bags for your slides and photos. Use the packing boxes provided by your carrier—UPS, Fedex or US Postal Service.

If you’re in Atlanta, we offer pickup & delivery service, $200 minimum and limited delivery area. Call us for details and schedule a pickup.

Can I submit copyright material?
No. If you do not own the copyright of material submitted, it is illegal to make copies. Your order will be returned. Videotapes of TV programs are considered copyright material and cannot be transferred. Media containing obscene or illegal material will not be converted.
